Getting away for a little vacation time is an idea that comes to everyone’s mind as the summer rolls around. Unfortunately with today’s economy it can be tough to find affordable trips. Sometimes the best deals are through all inclusive resorts.


Tips to good deals:

Check the fine print.

If you think the deal is too good to be true, then that just might be the case. Just be certain that you are getting everything that you believe that you are paying for, such as meals and alcoholic beverages included.


When you go will make a difference.

-A cruise during October and early November will be the cheapest time of year.

-Kid friendly theme parks are likely to have deals and be less crowded during regular school months.

-European vacations cost less during fall months.

-Vegas destinations run special deals during the heat of July and August.

Cancun Mexico: The Riviera Maya Resort

Cost: starts at $100 a night (per person)

Details: a pool that runs along the beach for endless great views. There are 400 plus rooms and they were just renovated in 2011. They also offer an included dinner from a local restaurant.


Dominican Republic: Iberostar Costa Dorada

Cost: starts at $100 a night (per person)

Details: This resort is one of several of a chain and is the best choice for a good price. It is located close to Puerto Plata, on the beach. The rooms (over 500) were all renovated just 2 years ago and each one has either a terrace or balcony. This resort offers a busy vacation with a lot of activities for those interested, even a kids club area. They also offer top shelf liquor instead of just the cheap stuff.

Jamaica: ClubHotel  Riu in Negril

Cost:  starts at $101 a night (per person)

Details: This is not the place for a quiet retreat from the world. With two giant pools and well stocked room mini bars, there is a lot of activity going on. It is on the beach and the pools have plenty of umbrella shaded lounge chairs.

Panama: Royal Decameron Golf Beach Resort & Villas in Farallon

Cost: starts at $106 a night (per person)

Details: A large resort with over 1100 rooms. It has 8 pools, one with a swim up bar. All of the rooms have either a terrace or a balcony for enjoying the view. Guests can borrow snorkeling equipment; use the paddleboats, kayaks, or windsurfers for free too.
